I dont think I have ever asked why. I know why.
The What about Fish just comes from not understanding the difference between vegetarians, dairy vegetarians and vegans. I think I just learned myself a couple of years ago.
Thanks Christina for commenting. The graph is a meager attempt at humor...actually the percentages do pretty closely approximate reactions from my family members.
Oh I can imagine the reactions. Why anyone would question someone's selfless and caring decision like yours is beyond me. I find it amusing and dumbfounding at turns.
I almost actually laughed at that - and I know you'll understand this, it is one of those things that's funny and completely, entirely not funny at the same time. And I have no idea what I would say if anyone ever said that to me, "what about fish"? Good grief.
