Playing in the snow...

is an activity that various animals enjoy...including crows. Here's a crow in Russia snowboarding by using what is apparently the lid of a jar. Enjoy.

Hmmm...maybe the video will expand perceptions of the other animals (here's hoping so).

I'm doing lots of reading and notions are gestating/percolating...hopefully some more writing to come soon.

Oh my God!!!!! At first I thought he or she was sliding barefoot and then I saw the sled.. Gasped out loud.

What a fun, lovely video! The crow definitely preferred the advanced runs over the bunny slope. :-) And I love that when he decided that he'd exhausted all that ski resort had to offer, he took his snowboard with him!

Here's hoping indeed that this video is yet another way to help humans see our fellow animals in a new and more affectionate, respectful, convivial way. They're far more playful and inventive than most of us ever give them credit for, perhaps in part because most of us aren't accustomed to paying enough attention.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful, day-brightening video, veganelder! I'm glad to see you posting again (though I'm a fine one to talk!) :-)

How cool! I've seen baby chicks do that - Slide down Mama's wing for the fun of it! Pity on humans that need laser tag, 3-D movies, neon lights, parks, and on and on (and on) to keep us amused.

Good for the new ideas you are forming and clarifying! I know you will share your insights when you can.
Stay well. <3

Thanks for commenting Laloofah. The video just might expand some perceptual horizons for some folks regarding other species...here's hoping. :-)

Thank you for commenting Bea. Play doesn't need technology...but as the crow shows we human animals don't have a monopoly on using artifacts for play sometimes. U be well too. :-)

Thanks for commenting HGV. Don't expect too much...lots of straining and struggling and small results are the rule of the day with me. :-)

Thank you for commenting Annie. Life without play is a grim business indeed. Crows know. :-)

That is a clever Crow. I wonder if his friends are watching and jealous because they dont have a sled. Birds have it going on.

I just watched this video for the zillionth time. People delight in other animals! That delight must not be twisted into Agro-terrorism! ( Aren't those factory "farmers" hideous?). I am archiving their language for a book project. We must be ever vigilant to their words.

Thank you for commenting Christina...other crows being jealous wouldn't surprise me...they are amazing beings.
