I like this video. Lilly is just a luv! She really is soaking up the affection and pets. And it is so nice to see parents teaching their kids kindness towards animals. Gives me a hopeful feeling.

You know I hear it said every Thanksgiving at least by one family member, or more, at the table "I don't like turkey." One family on my husband's side of the family fixes all Italian dishes instead. If turkey is so tasty why isn't it found in the meat counter year round? It's because it wouldn't sell, at least not in the ridiculous numbers sold at Thanksgiving. The tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchens on Thanksgiving day is from the wonderful spices in the veggie dishes (boy do I love sweet potatoes), the fresh baked breads and the yummie desserts - not the turkey that most folks who eat it will drench with gravy because it is too dry to swallow. Besides the growth hormones and the antibiotics they feed the animals it is not really known what is in the meat. Scary stuff. The Thanksgiving prayer video on your previous post I think was incomplete. What they could have done was a fast forward to the next year's Thanksgiving table showing several empty seats.

Even though I can't get the sound to work on this (and my computer tech, a/k/a my husband, is out of town until the 29th) I watched this. I did ok holding back tears until the 1 minute mark. As much as I love to see these kinds of relations with our fellow creatures, it breaks my heart to pieces to think of what the others of their kind are going through, even as I type this. .... Hopefully one day (and it's up to the young generations) we'll live in a correct world - and this will be the way that ALL our fellow creatures are treated. ... Thanks for sharing the video.

Thanks MM for commenting. The smell of flesh cooking is gross and unpleasant, I agree.

I really like your suggestion about the extension of the video...good stuff.

Love this video! It's nice to see turkeys as they should be, and in a peaceful relationship with humans. And I almost wonder if videos like this wouldn't be more effective with people who haven't gone vegan yet. I sometimes think folk just turn off thinking about the gory stuff, whereas if they were shown fun and upbeat images that also show how animals of different species CAN interact with each other...

Thanks SITOGV for commenting. I agree, positive messages tend not to arouse the defenses.
